There is no time like to the present to nourish yourself and start living to your fullest potential. True happiness can only be achieved when we feel our very best in this present moment.
There is no greater way to gain perspective, to think more clearly, to heal, to refocus, to get creative and to be true to the inherent nature of what makes us who we are, and makes us happiest than by taking some guilt-free time to just be and to live.
This week in St. Lucia will be a rejuvenating change retreat that will introduce you to new experiences, new information, new skills, and help you to evoke new visions and goals that will catalyze positive changes you never could have imagined.
The sweet, blissful and beautiful island of St. Lucia will allow you the opportunity to unwind, explore and play. The things you will learn, the adventure you will have and the people you will meet will ultimately change the way you live the rest of your life. This retreat is a blend of some of the most healthful life giving practices, as we blend together nutritional education, yoga, meditation, organic food, rainforest hiking and waterfalls, seawater and sunbathing, cooking and delightful light and enlightened discussion.
Everything about this retreat, from the organized excursions, organic farm tour, cocoa plantation visit, guest lecture from a local herbalist, daily yoga and the freshly prepared vegetarian meals are all designed to enhance personal health and well-being and educate along the way.
Nutrition and Food
Daily nutrition lectures are central to the retreat and will cover topics including the benefits of whole foods and super foods, going dairy-free and gluten-free, the benefits of plant based diets, focus on raw living foods with preparation demonstrations, cleansing practices, holistic body care and cosmetics and how to prepare for healthy living and healthy eating once back at home . Meghan is a wealth of knowledge about food and healthy meal preparation methods and her passion for nutrition is contagious. The time spent in the kitchen is an important part of the retreat. Working with Meghan, you will have the opportunity in the week to help prepare dinner, learning healthy, holistic, whole food cooking techniques and discover the absolute calm and joy that comes from preparing wholesome food from the freshest ingredients.

Meditation
Every day of the retreat will be wound down with guided mindfulness meditation. This practice helps calm the mind, allowing space for fresh creativity to come through. On a physiological level, this practice has been proven to lower stress, increase immune function, reduce inflammation, reduce anxiety, improve sleep, improve digestion, and ultimately improve quality of life overall. You will receive handouts that pertain to each lecture/discussion/demo with articles and other readings of relevance, information on meditation and its healing benefits, a collection of Meghan's recipes and any other additional supportive materials to help you stay on track and be prepared for your return home.
Yoga
With a background in Kundalini, Bikram, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Iyengar, Patricia Perkins classes will be tailored to fit the group's needs and desires. Her classes typically begin with Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) - a series of 12 postures performed in a single, graceful flow that builds strength and increases flexibility while generating heat in the body and preparing us for deepening stretching and strengthening.
Classes will focus on:
• Gaining an understanding of how we can use our bodies to breath and feel better
• Increasing our knowledge of the fundamental yoga poses and principles of alignment
• Experiencing increased flexibility,
strength, muscle tone, stress management, and an improved general sense of physical, mental and emotional well-being
