| Good Hope, Jamaica |
| |
The unspoiled landscape, rural seclusion, artistic and agricultural activities, its history, space, peace and unabashed beauty make Good Hope an inspired setting for retreats, workshops and specialty tours.
Good Hope has an extensive variety of nature trails throughout the 2000 acre property; there are trails along the river, to hilltops, into woodland and through citrus groves to amazing historic ruins. Trails are used for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.
Staying at Good Hope gives you immediate accessibility to the Windsor Cave and the Cockpit Mountains, a 500 square mile area of dramatic scenery that is perhaps the most reclusive, untamed and uninhabited area in Jamaica. The wildlife, birds, butterflies, bats and primary vegetation make it irresistible to adventurers and naturalists.
Good Hope offers a total of 14 bedrooms (& private bathrooms), with the capacity to accommodate 28 people, based on double occupancy. The classic Georgian style Great House has 10 bedrooms, the artistic River Cottage has 3 bedrooms and is just steps away from the river, and the simple and private 1 bedroom Garden Cottage. River Cottage and Garden Cottage are a 5 minute walk from the Great House where dining and other activities occur and a golf cart is available for use.
The Great House facilities include a 50ft. open air pavilion called Wispa with spectacular views, a truly enlightening setting for a yoga retreat. As a yoga room, Wispa can hold up to 30 people comfortably. The pavilion also serves as a classroom or informal workshop area.
The historic Good Hope kitchen has the original open hearth fireplace and chimney used with wood-burning stove and can accommodate 18 to 20 students for cooking workshops and demonstrations. The Great House also features a pool table in the games room, table tennis in the garden, a tennis court, swimming pool, and Jacuzzi tub with decking.
Capacity: 16-28 adults |
