Wilderness Retreat |

Discover
this small, secluded inn perched at the head of a sun-filled valley
on a mountain slope in the heart of Dominica’s rainforest
wilderness. Founded in 1969, it is Dominica’s original eco-inn.
Located about 5 miles above Roseau, Dominica’s capital city,
the retreat is set amidst a lush botanical garden containing world-class
collection of rare orchids, brilliant bromeliads and effusive aroids.
This lush backdrop of greenery and colorful blooms has gently flowing
streams and hot mineral pools intertwined.
Two separate streams, one hot and one cold are an integral part
of the garden design. The natural hot springs course through a series
of bathing pools -- a perfect place to relax, read a book or plan
the next day's adventures. As if that all isn’t enough, the
Trafalgar Falls is only a ten minute walk away. Here you will find
two spectacular waterfalls with hot and cold pools to soak in.
The comfortable, charming rooms --including singles, doubles and
small suites -- overlook the gardens, mountains and waterfalls.
They are simply furnished with comfortable beds, beautiful locally
crafted bed quilts and fresh flowers from the gardens.
Relax and enjoy your meals in the Rainforest Restaurant, a spacious
roofed terrace with a sweeping view down the Roseau River valley.
Rainbows often arc across the mountain ridges. Dine on fresh-caught
fish, prawns or chicken prepared Creole-style with all the fabled
spices of the island's rich cultural heritage. Enjoy fresh fruit
juices, island-brewed Kubuli beer, or the special "Papillote"
rum punch.
